A Call to Action

A key outcome of the Africa Dialogue Series 2025 was the Call to Action, which is based on issues raised by speakers and participants throughout the month-long series. It calls for systemic, structural reparatory justice that addresses historical injustices like slavery, colonialism, apartheid and extractive economies. The Call to Action urges the integration of reparations into global development agendas, emphasizing economic sovereignty, climate justice, cultural restoration, and youth empowerment. It advocates for reforming global governance, financial systems, and education to reflect African perspectives. The document encourages unity between Africa and its diaspora to transform historical harm into sustainable development and inclusive prosperity through collaborative, rights-based, and future-focused action. It advocates for reparatory justice centred on human dignity and social equity.
