About the Africa Dialogue Series
Organized annually by the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA), the African Union Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations and selected partners, the Africa Dialogue Series (ADS) is an interactive platform for policy- and decision-makers, experts, academics, members of civil society, young people and other stakeholders from the UN and externally to come together and look into the challenges and opportunities impacting Africa. The ADS seeks to contribute to and amplify the priorities of African Member States and the African Union through a host of activities organized around the Theme of the Year of the African Union.
The ADS culminates with a High-level Policy Dialogue organized around plenary meetings at a political level that contributes towards policymaking and serves as a platform for in-depth exchanges to produce forward-looking and implementable ideas and recommendations toward accelerating Africa¡¯s development. In 2025, the UN General Assembly established the ADS High-level Policy Dialogue as a mandated meeting in view of its role as the main UN platform to advocate for the African Union Theme of the Year.
