Submission deadline: 1 June 2026

Notification of selected side events: 8 June 2026

The Joint Secretariat will review all submissions in consultation with the AI Dialogue Co-Chairs. Organisers of selected proposals will be notified by email.

Types of Side Events

They can be organised as:

  • Official in-person side events at Palexpo International Exhibition and Convention Centre (the AI Dialogue venue)
  • Endorsed off-site events hosted at external venues.
  • Endorsed virtual side events.

Schedule

In-person side events may only be organised during the following designated times/segments:

  • Monday 6 July 2026 from 13:30 – 15:00
  • Tuesday 7 July 2026 from 07:30 – 08:45 and from 12:00 – 13:00

Off-site and virtual side events may be held at any time on 6 or 7 July 2026.

Given the limited availability of rooms and time slots at the AI Dialogue venue, applicants are encouraged to consider off-site or virtual formats, where appropriate, to support broader participation and flexibility.

Format Options

Applicants are invited to propose session formats drawing from, but not limited to, the following examples:

  • Moderated panel discussion featuring multiple speakers and audience engagement.
  • Fireside Chat-style interactive conversation between two or more speakers focused on a targeted issue or initiative.
  • Workshop-style participatory session designed to facilitate in-depth discussion, exchange of experiences, and practical engagement among speakers and participants.
  • A combination of Lightning Talk-style fast-paced expert discussions or presentations highlighting innovative ideas, emerging issues, practical use cases, research findings and/or partnership opportunities.

Organisers are encouraged to develop interactive sessions that foster broad audience participation and meaningful discussion, including through collaboration with relevant stakeholders, partners, and affected communities.

Please note that, owing to programme scheduling considerations and logistical practicalities, proposed sessions should generally not exceed 45 minutes in duration.

Further information

Election criteria, responsibilities of the organizers, eligibility, and more is available in the Open Call.

Additional information on the AI Dialogue, thematic clusters and programme updates will be made available on the official AI Dialogue website.

Please note that the Joint Secretariat can only confirm in-person side events for organisers who have registered for and confirmed to attend the AI Dialogue. Kindly ensure that the organiser has completed the registration process by the stated deadline.
