The Legal Counsel provided members of the Commission with an overview of the activities over the past year of the Office of Legal Affairs, which is the central legal service of the Organization. The Legal Counsel commended the Commission for its unwavering dedication to advancing the progressive development of international law and its codification, which remains an essential cornerstone in the maintenance of international peace, security, and justice.

The Legal Counsel also reaffirmed the steadfast commitment of the Office of Legal Affairs to the Commission and to continue to serve it with the highest standards of diligence, professionalism and dedication.
