The Secretary-General met with leaders of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). The Secretary-General welcomed the strong partnership with CARICOM and thanked CARICOM Member States for their continued leadership regarding climate action and for their efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda.
The Secretary-General raised the issue of cholera in Haiti, stressing that the United Nations would undertake a concerted effort to treat the outbreak and prevent further infections, as well as develop a proposal for support to those most directly affected by the disease. The Secretary-General and CARICOM leaders discussed a range of other issues of relevance for Caribbean region.
