The Secretary-General welcomes the leading role being played by the Organization of American States in addressing the tensions that have arisen since last weekend between Colombia and Ecuador. The resolution adopted at the OAS yesterday provides a impartial mechanism to clarify events and offers both countries a path to resolve their differences peacefully and cooperatively. The Secretary-General extends his full support to that process.
